The HOTS Boil Shot series was developed to take on the king of the ocean—giant bluefin and yellowfin tuna—under the meticulous supervision of renowned tuna hunter Hideyuki Furuya. After countless prototypes and extensive field testing, the Boil Shot combines long casting performance, precise lure control, and immense lifting power, making it one of the most capable big game casting rods in the world.
The blanks are crafted with four-axis carbon cross construction in the butt section, offering exceptional torsional strength and shape recovery without adding extra weight. The tip features a 1mm pitch unsanded finish, ensuring both lightness and durability. This design delivers high maneuverability, enabling delicate actions such as short twitches and underwater darting—essential for enticing fish under tough conditions.
While optimized for yellowfin and bluefin tuna, the Boil Shot is also highly effective for GT (giant trevally) and large yellowtail amberjack. The series offers multiple models to match specific fishing situations, from standard plug work to extreme heavy-duty tuna battles.
