About this product

The TULALA Baritono 80 was developed as a versatile heavy-duty spinning rod positioned between conventional seabass tackle and full offshore equipment. Inspired by Taman, a powerful reef fish popular in Okinawa, the rod was designed around offshore casting situations where stopping fish before they reach coral, rocks or other structure is essential. Despite its relatively light handling feel, the blank develops substantial strength from the belly through the butt, allowing it to handle large seabass and unexpected big-game encounters. Its slim blank gives the Baritono 80 an unusually broad lure range. It performs particularly well with 10–30 g minnows and deep-diving crankbaits, while also handling 30–50 g metal vibration lures and jigs and larger plugs around 50–60 g. The official casting specification extends to 80 g. In 2022, the rod was updated with TULALA’s Straw Setting, a guide configuration designed around PE-line characteristics. The setting improves casting performance in demanding conditions such as strong winds while allowing the angler to use the rod's butt power efficiently when fighting larger fish. Although developed primarily for offshore casting, the Baritono 80 is also suitable for shore-based seabass, Akame and heavy big-bait applications.
